Autopilot not creating nodes

I started an autopilot cluster and no pods in kube-system have started, they are all pending. listing nodes gives 'no resources found'. So it isn't creating nodes. When I go to the console the cluster has a green check mark but a popup says 'The cluster creation failed'.

Does anyone have any ideas of what I am missing?

Hello @Dave-Anderson,

Welcome to Google Cloud Community!

You might want to verify your billing and quota first then review the permissions. Make sure you have the necessary permissions to create nodes. The issue usually occurs when you try to create an Autopilot cluster with an IAM service account that's disabled or doesn't have the required permissions. See Cannot create a cluster: 0 nodes registered

You can also review logs and error messages related to autopilot. See Viewing your GKE logs

Please also note that some GCP services and features may have regional limitations. Ensure that the Autopilot feature is available in the region where your project is located.

Thanks!
