Kubernetes web hook timeout issue

An operator in our application is attempting to perform a web hook call to a
kubernetes API while creating a custom resource definition named,
"FlinkCluster". (501 status).
However, this web hook call is timing out in GKE and we unable to
determine the root cause or how to increase the timeout limit in order
to resolve the issue.
Note that when we perform this action in AWS EKS, we do not hit a
timeout issue.
