Packet jumping from 1 node to another node for outbound traffic

I was watching the activity of firewall rule logs for my gke cluster.

It seems my outbound connection is sometimes going to the different instance in same node pool before going outwards.

I'm facing high network latency on my node as well. Could this be the reason for that?

Hi @Rajatj21,

Welcome to Google Cloud Community!

Probably that could be the reason. However, it’s still depending on how the firewall rules, load balancer, IP masquerading, and ingress & egress traffic are implemented.

Here are some recommendations that may help to mitigate high network latency

By managing and optimizing ingress and egress traffic through well-defined network policies, firewall rules, and potential adjustment IP masquerading settings, you can reduce unnecessary traffic and improve latency.

If the issue still persists and needs further assistance, you can file a ticket with our support team.

I hope the above information is helpful
