I have a custom domain called "images.,myadomainname.app" and i am getting error message "Error: Server Error
The service you requested is not available yet.
Please try again in 30 seconds." and i checked the custom domain section and notice the following error in that domain "Certificate activation has failed. DNS records could not be found."
how can i solve the issue inside the Google Cloud platform.
Certificate activation has failed. DNS records could not be found.
Hello @jsumuano ,
Welcome to Google Cloud Community!
Since you mentioned custom domain, I am assuming this is for App Engine service. Based on the error message you provided, it looks like the necessary DNS record is not present on the domain.
In the custom domains page you would see some records that needs to be added to your domain. Please verify in your domain registrar for: images.myadomainname.app, that the DNS record seen in the custom domains page is created.
This is explained in detail here: https://cloud.google.com/appengine/docs/standard/mapping-custom-domains#dns_update
I hope that help clarify your question.
Hello vishnuramac. thanks for your reply. I work with Jose and wanted to jump in with a bit more details.
The entire app including domain name (normansnursery.app) are registered at Google including the name server:
https://www.whatsmydns.net/#NS/normansnursery.app
Could you tell us how we can fix the error of it not finding the DNS record if the name servers are already on Google? Is Google Domains DNS records managed elsewhere? Where do we go to update the DNS records?
The error: "Certificate activation has failed. DNS records could not be found".
Thanks in advance!
It looks like you have set up the domain: "normansnursery.app", however I believe you haven't created the CNAME DNS record for "images.normansnursery.app" to point to ghs.googlehosted.com.
If I do a dig/nslookup for images.normansnursery.app, I am getting an NXDOMAIN, which means the record does not exist. However if I look for www.normansnursery.app, I can see that the CNAME does exist.
Try adding the record in your managed domain.
Could you give us the URL or steps to navigate to where we can add the
records?
We cannot find it in the GCP interface.
When we try to get to the URL where to edit records, it's asking us to activate the Cloud DNS API.
