Custom metric label

Hi,

Is there a way to add custom metric labels to the VM instance metrics captured by GCP monitoring? I want to group by a custom label in https://console.cloud.google.com/monitoring/metrics-explorer. Note that I have that label as part of VM metadata. (i.e this is a VM level label)
