I am looking for some help as I work for a small non-profit and am not a developer. When Google workspace creates the files for the data export in Google Takeout (which I use to back our data up to an SSD) it uses the ":" in a bunch of the folder names. This causes tons of errors in the download process because this is an illegal character in NTFS and I end up having to do a lot of individual file downloads because I can't figure out how to get around this. Example: gs://takeout-export-706e85a2-0f4e-4d18-acfe-95471563470d/20230814T193436Z/Resource: -5348444572996740870/takeout-20230814T193440Z-043.zip"
I just want to back up my org's data to an external drive as a protection against ransomware. This really shouldn't be so hard to figure out, but every 3 months I end up banging my head against the wall trying to do a bulk download into a windows computer. This process literally takes me 3 days. I have done multiple google searches for solutions, but haven't found anything that addresses my issue.
Can someone please point me to instructions on how to download a bucket with the google takeout data export onto a windows machine?
