I know this probably gets asked a lot, but what is the definitive answer as to whether GCP supports native multicast in the cloud, IGMP-based or otherwise (like overlay network-based)? Our Sponsor's management hierarchy claims that GCP account reps have told them that unlike AWS or Azure, GCP supports native multicast in the cloud. Yet I can find absolutely no documentation anywhere that supports that claim. This question keeps coming up through my Sponsor every year or so. How can I put it to bed definitively one way or another? Thank you!

Hi @jmlineb ,
Google Cloud's VPC network doesn't support multicast or even broadcast within the network or natively. You can refer to this documentation. GCP has unicast networking capabilities. Instead of multicast groups, individual endpoints are the recipients of network traffic.
