My website recently experienced outages and our technical provider said that a recent Google Cloud update caused it. I'm not technical, but I'm trying to understand and it has something to do with the fact that the technical provider had to do a DNS update and it is taking up to 48 hours for some of our website's users to be able to access the website.
Would somebody be able to explain to me why a Google Cloud update would necessitate a DNS update and what our technical provider could have done to prevent the outage?
Thanks so much!
Hey @PaulinaG, hope all is well.
I don't want to assume anything here, but "a recent Google Cloud update" doesn't exactly sound like an explanation, more like an excuse. What was updated exactly, how did it affect the website, why did they have to make dns changes are the questions I would be asking the provider.
Let us know if you have any details about this from your provider and we'll be happy to think together about what really happened.
Thank you so much for your response and for giving me these questions to ask and I'll definitely check back with you when I get the answers to get your opinion!
