Hello, i'm working at ZEOP(AS37002) an ISP located in Indian Ocean and our customers are experiencing high latency (260ms instead of 100ms) towards some servers located to AS19527 (35.215.128.0/18). The return path to our network goes through Hurricane Electric (AS6939) and we do not want it to go there. Google NOC send me there so i'm asking for help about this please.
We already have a BGP peering at SGIX with Google AS15169 but those kind of Google Cloud prefixes are not advertised.
Regards.
Hi @Thomas_ZEOP ,
Based on what I understood, you are trying to prevent the return path from going through Hurricane Electric (AS6939) towards certain servers located in AS19527.
You might want to check the BGP configuration and set up your preferred path through your peering with Google AS15169. Adjust the Local Preference attribute and give a higher value to Google.
If you've already checked your BGP configuration and the issue persists, it may be helpful to contact Google NOC again and provide them with more detailed information about the issue. This can include traceroute results, BGP logs, and any other relevant data.
Hi @Marvin_Lucero ,
Thanks for your response. I've already attempted all of these steps, but the problem lies with Hurricane Electric. Unfortunately, they are unwilling to adjust their local preference due to internal reasons.
So, the main obstacle here, I believe, is reaching out to AS19527. However, Google NOC (Google Network Operations noc@google.com) informed me that they are not responsible for AS19527 and suggested I seek assistance elsewhere. If you have any advice or contact information to reach out to peering/network engineers from AS19527, I would greatly appreciate it.
Best regards.
