How private uptime checks connect to customer VPC network resources

I am struggling to understand how private uptime checks securely connect to customer VPC network resources.
Are Uptime-check servers located in Service producer network
and its connection between customer VPC network and the service producer's VPC network are implemented as a VPC Network Peering ?

Hi @tana46934 ,

Welcome to Google Cloud Community!

Uptime checks aren't always situated within the networks of service providers. They are a monitoring feature offered by GCP that tests the accessibility of a URL or IP address from various locations worldwide. Private uptime checks are performed within the Service Producer Network, specifically from within your VPC, to monitor the availability of internal resources that are not accessible from the public internet. In contrast, public uptime checks are conducted from GCP's global edge locations, simulating access from outside of GCP's network

The link between a customer's VPC network and a service producer's VPC network is generally not established through VPC Network Peering. Instead, Google Cloud utilizes a different approach known as Private Service Connect to connect to services offered by Google or third-party service providers. Private Service Connect is a feature of Google Cloud networking that enables consumers to privately access managed services from within their own VPC network. Likewise, it allows service providers to host these services in their own dedicated VPC networks and offer a private connection to their consumers.

I hope the above information is helpful.
