How to Disable Network Intelligence Center Features to Prevent Unexpected Costs?

Hello Google Cloud Community,

I have been studying and working on launching instances using Compute Engine. However, I have noticed unexpected costs associated with the following items:

• Network Intelligence Center Network Analyzer Resource Hours (9BF8-CD36-F9B8)
• Network Intelligence Center Topology and Google Cloud Performance Resource Hours (D9AD-28F8-05D8)
• Network Intelligence Center Internet to Google Cloud Performance Resource Hours (BDBA-22FA-3925)

To avoid incurring these costs, I am considering disabling these features. However, I am unsure of how to proceed with this.

Could anyone provide detailed instructions on how to disable these specific features to prevent further costs?

Hello @Haruya  ,Welcome on Google Cloud Community.

If you want to permanently disable those services, please follow:
1. Go to your project, where you want to disable APIs
2. Search for APIs and Services

3. ENABLE APIS AND SERVICES -> Search for networkmanagement.googleapis.com

4. MANAGE -> DISABLE API

or if you prefer CLI 
1. Go to your project and open CLI terminal ( top right corner )
2. Execute following command : 

gcloud services disable networkmanagement.googleapis.com

3. If you will get prompt about Authorization, click Authorize

PS: You can check what resources are assigned into networkmanagement.googleapis.com via Asset Inventory.

Hi DamianS,

Thanks for your prompt and helpful response. I followed the steps you outlined to disable the networkmanagement.googleapis.com API, both through the Google Cloud Console and the CLI, but I'm still encountering some issues.
When I try to disable the API through the console, I receive an error message stating that the API has resources in use and needs to be deactivated before it can be disabled. I've checked the Asset Inventory, but I don't see any resources associated with the API.
I've also tried disabling the API using the CLI command gcloud services disable networkmanagement.googleapis.com, but I get an authorization error. I've made sure that I'm logged in to the correct project and that I have the necessary permissions, but the error persists.
I'm at a bit of a loss here. Any suggestions on how I can proceed? I'd really appreciate any further assistance you can provide.

Hello,

Please search for Connectivity Test. I've had two connectivity tests ( have no idea how they have been configured xd) and I've received the same issue as you. Remove them, and you should be able to disable API.

@marycolley This feature is free for 20 runs only. And I just enabled this API as suggested by Gemini but it has done 1610 runs in 3 weeks without any intervention.
