Internal Error Running BQ Query On Table With GCS Data

I'm getting an internal server error when running a simple BQ query on a table with data in AVRO files on GCS. It fails every time. The data is present and I see nothing I can do from my end to fix it.

An internal error occurred and the request could not be completed. This is usually caused by a transient issue. Retrying the job with back-off as described in the BigQuery SLA should solve the problem: https://cloud.google.com/bigquery/sla. If the error continues to occur please contact support at https://cloud.google.com/support. Error: 80038528

I can't contact support because I don't pay for it and it's absolutely insane to me that something can be entirely broken and there's no way to report that. It seems to have been broken all weekend.

I presume it's a GCS issue because BQ seems to be fine otherwise.

Hard to see why I give Google Cloud my money in these situations.
