Hi community,
It seems that we need to export data from Google Earth Engine (GEE) to Google Cloud Storage (GCS) if we want to use these data to train and test a deep learning model that is facilitated by TensorFlow and may later on be deployed to Google AI platform. However, I find that it is quite slow to export data from GEE to GCS due to the limited user quota that comes with the GEE platform.
I have checked that GEE currently provides two options to request additional quota for uses (https://developers.google.com/earth-engine/help#additional_quota). However, it seems taking quite a while for them to review and make decisions on non-commercial applications. On the other hand, they suggest contacting sales for GEE commercial uses. I tried to do so but the one who answered my phone said that I need to spend at least $10,000 per year to set up a commercial project and he also admits that he does not know too much techniques so may not support me well.
Considering that I have some money (but definitely far away from $10,000 per year) to use, may I kindly check whether I can speed up my GEE computations via the use of Google Cloud, just like how we use Compute Engine to speed up other computations? Who should I contact to configure one of my Google Cloud projects to achieve so? And what's the specific costs for such accelerations?
Please help! Thanks in advance!
All the best,
Fei
