Network Planning Tool - Map Layer Now Shows "Map Labels" in Satellite View

Hi there,

Sorry for yet another question. Overnight, the map tab has now been moved back to the left side panel (as opposed to showing on the map itself).  I notice that now when you use the "map" view (not satellite), you have the option to remove "map labels" making for a much cleaner output.  However, when you flick it into satellite view, the map labels come back and clutter up the output.  This wasn't happening yesterday.

Is there a way to disable map labels when in satellite view?

Many thanks

Hi David,

Your questions are welcome!

Yesterday we released a permanent fix for the previous issue where overlays were not fixed to the map.

For most users, this fix moves the overlay options back to the left-side panel as you noticed, and also restores additional functionality such as the ability to tilt and rotate the map and enable 3D buildings in Map (as opposed to Satellite) view.

Unfortunately with this feature set it is not possible to modify the 'Base map' layers such as 'Map labels' while in Satellite view.

Something to be aware of - the map features that you are seeing use a JavaScript API called WebGL (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/WebGL) to enable the new feature set. Since not all devices are WebGL capable, some users may still see the older feature set with the map overlay options on the lower-right of the map.

You could possibly even disable WebGL at the device or browser level to see the old feature set, but I would not recommend going this route as you get improved functionality and performance with WebGL enabled.

Hi Alex,

Yet again, thanks for coming back so quickly with a clear explanation.

Thanks
