Supportability Matrix for GCP snapshot feature.

Hello,

I am looking for supportability Matrix for GCP snapshot feature.  GCP supports lot of operating systems images for creating VM.

Is there any GCP official documentation, where it is mentioned that which, all operating system images, GCP supports snapshot feature.

Your help is much appreciated.

In the official documentation (Persistent disk snapshots) I couldn't find a list for the supported operating systems, are you looking for the support of a specific operating system image?

Hi,

Thank you for the reply.

Actually, I just wanted to make sure that, whatever OS Types, public images GCP supports for creating VMs. We will be able to take a persistent disk snapshot, of the disk attached to these VMs using GCP snapshot APIs.

I need to prepare snapshot supportability matrix for our customers.

Since disk snapshot is a feature for Compute Engine, you could base your supportability matrix on the supported OS for Compute Engine.

You can see the full list of public images with their image names, versions numbers, and image sizes, by using the Google Cloud console or the Google Cloud CLI. Google updates public images regularly, or when a patch for a critical-impact common vulnerability and exposure (CVE) is available.

In the Google Cloud console, go to the Images page.

Compute Engine provides public images with 64-bit versions of the following operating systems. For more information about each OS, including how each OS is customized to run on Compute Engine, see Operating system details.
