System goes down randomly Open case with Google: 45846340

Hi community,

We have a wierd situation where our application goes down randomly on frequent basis along the day, each down episode lasts for like 15 mins then it works back normally again.

It has a terrible effect on our overall business, we are now considering moving to another cloud provider. A case was opened with Google but the response is very slow.

Has anyone in the community faced such kind of problems? we noticed that when we change the connection it sometimes work, seems to be something related to the network but we could not figure it out, the network itself always works well for other websites.

Here are the details of the Google case, appreciate to have a reply from the community if anyone came across something similar.

Issue summary:

request timeout randomly without any app engine logs then it works again after ~10mins ( or by changing the ISP connection )

 





Affected timeframe (include timezone):

first appearance was in 2020 then the issue was not noticed until this year it appears now more frequently.

You can try the following troubleshooting options:

  1. Inspect the Cloud Logging logs. In Viewing Logs, you can view your application and request a logs by using the Logs Explorer.
  2. Perform Health Checks. This makes App Engine send periodical health check requests to confirm if an instance is running. You can configure your app.yaml file to have HTTP requests from health check be forwarded to your application container. You can follow this documentation to have health checks. 
  3. You can also refer to this documentation in troubleshooting App Engine errors.

If the above options still can't pinpoint the exact reason why your application goes down, I highly suggest contacting Google Cloud Support to further look into your case.
