Unable to create VMs in a new GCP project

I am facing a new issue that was definitely not there last week. I am using the web UI.

If I create a new project, and then try to create a new VM in that project (enabling first the compute engine and associating this project with a billing account), it won't work. The VM creation form points to an issue with AdvancedOptions -> Networking -> Network Interfaces.

The issue is that the "network interface 1" contains one or more errors. When trying to edit it there are no options available in the Network drop down menu. If I go into VPC Network for this same project, I do see the "default" network there (it's the one I use for all my other projects).

And if I try to create a new VM in an old project of mine, it works fine (without having to touch the Advanced Options at all). I know that last Friday I created a new Project and created a bunch of VMs in that project... it worked fine. But today, my students were all unable to create VMs (they don't have an old project). And when I tried to create a new project, I ran into the issue of being unable to create VMs as well (but only for new projects, not for old ones).

I've created and used at least 10 projects over the past 2 years, so this issue is very new. Either a bug or a change in the steps required when creating a new project.

I tried creating a VM in a different region, same issue.

Anyone has the same issue ? any workaround ?

Thank you very much !

Well, the issue seems to be solved as things are back to working normally again with the UI. Not sure what happened.

I had a whole group of students with the same problem yesterday PM and it's working for them as well today.
