Unauthorized charge.

I used the Google Cloud free trial for a while.

However, when subscribing to YouTube Premium, there was a charge of R$ 240.56 (US$ ≈ 46.80) made by Google Cloud.

What to do to remove this undue charge?

If you've encountered an unanticipated charge on your credit card when signing up for YouTube Premium through Google Cloud, it's essential to promptly address this matter. To rectify the situation, you can take the following steps:

  1. Examine Your Subscription: First, ensure that the charge is indeed related to your YouTube Premium subscription and not a separate fee from Google Cloud. Confirm that you didn't unintentionally select a Google Cloud service that led to a charge. Double-check the date and amount of the charge for verification.

  2. Thoroughly Review the Terms and Conditions: Carefully peruse the terms and conditions governing YouTube Premium subscriptions and the Google Cloud free trial to gain a clear understanding of potential charges and billing practices.

  3. Contact Google Support: Initiate contact with Google Support for assistance. You can usually find a "Contact Us" or "Help" section on Google's website or within your Google Account settings. Explain your situation and provide them with comprehensive information about the charge.

  4. Lodge a Dispute with Your Bank: If resolving the issue with Google Support proves challenging or if you believe the charge is genuinely unauthorized or erroneous, consider reaching out to your bank or credit card issuer to initiate a dispute. They will guide you through the dispute process.

  5. Keep a Watchful Eye on Your Account: Continuously monitor your credit card or bank statements to ensure that any irregularities are addressed promptly.

The same thing happened to me. I received a $150 visa gift card and someone put fraudulent video charges on the card before I could even use it and maxed it out. I filed a claim with google and they denied it even when my account shows no video charges.

i filed a complaint with the Better Business Bureau and I am contacting the local news here in Atlanta to do a story on this as I see from thousands of internet posts that this is a frequent occurrence with Google. My attorney is also looking at filing a civil suit on my behalf .I am not letting this go as it is more of the principle at this point for me than the money. I am going to see it through to till the end!!
