Where exactly does Managed Prometheus store its data?

My team and I consider using Managed Prometheus for monitoring Compute Engines in our project. However, from the documentation it is not clear to me where exactly MP stores the data it collects. Is there a dedicated server that is deployed for storing the data following a subscription of MP?

As per this documentation, Monarch is the one responsible in collecting data. Monarch is a planet-scale in-memory time series database developed by Google. It is mainly used by as a reliable monitoring system by most of Google’s internal systems like Spanner, BigTable, Colossus, BlobStore.
