API gateway roadmap?

Does anyone have indication on GCP's plans for continued support on API Gateway? Trying to determine if it's worthwhile to begin using it?

On the issue below, in Jan 2023 the statement was made:

The team is working on a roadmap that will reconcile Apigee and API Gateway. Until then we have paused efforts to add new features to API Gateway.
