Bug: Can't save selected "Set an application restriction" on API Key

Hello,

If this is the incorrect forum to post please let me know, I wasn't too sure. I have found a bug I believe when trying to restrict my API Key to a given application. My steps are:

  1. Click on my API key https://console.cloud.google.com/apis/credentials/
  2. Then under "Application restrictions" I select "Websites"
  3. I hit save on the page, everything looks good
  4. I navigate away from the page and back to this page, the selection is back to "none."
  5. I asked Gemini if I can then set it using the "cloud shell". Gemini said no, not by application.

Doesn't get saved, keeps going back to "None"Doesn't get saved, keeps going back to "None"

Hi @Michelle99

Welcome to Google Cloud Community!

This seems like a bug in the Google Cloud Console. It is recommended to report this issue to Google Cloud support as it is preventing you from properly restricting your API Key.

In the meantime, you can try these temporary workarounds until the bug is fixed:

  • Avoid navigating away from the API Key page until the issue is resolved, try not to leave the API Key settings page after saving.
  • If you need to make changes to the API key restriction settings, consider regenerating the key and then applying the restrictions again.

I hope the above information is helpful.
