Hey, great news about the new cert exam.
However, on the exam description page here: https://cloud.google.com/learn/certification/data-practitioner,  it says exam registration began on Oct 30, but there is no  option to register for beta in Webassessor yet.
Also, will sample questions be available soon?

Thanks for your question! The new Associate Data Practitioner certification exam assesses a wide breadth of securing, cleaning, visualizing, and managing data across Google Cloud data solutions. This certification is targeted for candidates with at least 6 months of experience using Google Cloud to manage data. This certification serves as an entry-point for candidates to validate their skills and knowledge, creating a path for candidates to build on established skills before progressing on to more advanced data-related certifications of Professional Data Engineer, Professional Machine Learning Engineer or Professional Cloud Database Engineer.

How same/different is this new Associate Data Practitioner exam from the Professional Data Engineer exam?

I feel this new Associate Data Practitioner is the SUBSET of the Professional Data Engineer exam. So if I prepare for professional cert will I indirectly be prepared for the associate data practitioner cert?

The best resource to use to prepare for a Google Cloud certification is the exam guide associated with the certification. The exam guide lists the specific objectives an exam is assessing to validate a candidate’s skill and ability to fulfill the certification’s related job role.

While ADP and PDE both assess candidates’ skill and knowledge of solutions in the Google Cloud data portfolio, each exam evaluates objectives specific to the corresponding job role.

Beta exams contain a large pool of new exam items, and not all of them will meet psychometric standards for use on the final version of the exam. Beta exams allow us to gather performance statistics on the new questions presented in the beta and use these statistics to create the certification standards for the final exam.
