I am very confused by this from support, can @Yugali confirm? If it is the case, please make it more obvious for others in the future...
So it turns out, according to support, Checked in badge only counts to the first 50 people for the arcade point (this makes sense and is explained on the arcade page) and for the facilitator program (this is the part not explained, BEWARE!)...
Getting a badge is not a completion, getting a point is... At least that's what support told me. Absolutely not obvious from this: https://rsvp.withgoogle.com/events/arcade-facilitator/points-system or the arcade website.
Can anyone else confirm, this seems completely unintuitive as facilitator program asks for completion of badges, does not mention anywhere that completion means getting a point. Also goes against advice of doing badges before everything else.
Solved! Go to Solution.
I understood your point in your first post itself. I also seen another post of you in another thread on this subject,
Facilitator rules/terms and conditions clearly say
Every month we release 6 new Arcade games that you can complete to earn "Arcade Points" - 3 levelled games, 1 Basecamp Game, 1 Cert Zone Game & 1 Special Game.
So they are considering these six games only for Arcade points. Checked In arcade game not mentioned.
Any way we need to complete only 10 Arcade Games (Apr and May 25) even for Ultimate milestone.
As per my understanding/interpretation , Checked In games are not for freshers/mid level.
IF you want to be in Top 50,
You should know Date and time(including fraction of seconds) when Checked In Game will be kept in Arcade Page( I have never seen google sending mail when they update arcade page with new games. Yugali ma'am posts in community after few days/weeks)
You should have high end system and higher bandwidth Internet connection and above all you need SDK kit and premium membership)
Note: Do Checked In (only after completing 6 Arcade Games) Arcade game only for learning . as you know after completing these labs, indirectly these labs are helpful to complete skill badges easily (if you have not completed that labs)
Please free to post your views( you observed good point, your point is they have mentioned only Arcade badge, but important to note , they have clearly listed , six arcade games they consider as part of Facilitator program)
All the best.
Please understand at the launch of Checked In Arcade Game, it's clearly mentioned 1 Arcade point is awarded to first 50 players who complete the game. If anyone is not in 50, they do not get 1 arcade point. Consider anyone who is above 50 , they will have zero arcade points. So whether it is facilitator or arcade , if they are above 50 --zero points.
Note: only chance is -Players who complete the game later can still qualify for a special game at the end of the season.

I think you misunderstood the issue. I know that only 50 people get the arcade point. My issue is: if you are not in the 50, you don't get completion counted towards facilitator program, and this is not specified anywhere (worse, the facilitator program description, hints at the opposite)...
So there are 2 sources which contradict the point theory:
https://rsvp.withgoogle.com/events/arcade-facilitator/syllabus
Every month we release 6 new Arcade games that you can complete to earn "Arcade Points" - 3 levelled games, 1 Basecamp Game, 1 Cert Zone Game & 1 Special Game.
Hence, in a single cohort of 2 months under the Facilitator Program, you can earn a total of 12 game badges. See the currently active games for this month below. We will update these as and when new games will be released in the following months. Note: Games have limited seats, so enrol and complete them ASAP.
Note: While there are a total of 6 games that are released every month and you can complete 12 games in total in the 2 months of the facilitator program, any 10 game completions will be counted towards the ultimate milestone.
🏆Ultimate Milestone: Complete ANY 10 Arcade Games, 8 Trivia Games & 44 Skill Badges + ANY 16 provided "lab-free" courses
https://rsvp.withgoogle.com/events/arcade-facilitator/points-system
The facilitator program also clearly states that you need to COMPLETE ANY 10 ARCADE GAMES. The tips included in each facilitator email, says that you should prioritize completing all games before everything else. It says nothing that you need to get a point for the game for it to count. In my understanding if I get a badge, I have completed the game.
At the very least, this needs to be explained better and reflected on the arcade website. It's just very frustrating if you are trying to complete the max milestone (its already a lot to do) and this is not specified anywhere.

Yup, the syllabus does not mention checked in. Didn't realize it as badges are added to syllabus only after they are posted in arcade. So when I signed up it was blank.
Wow, this is the first time I've even heard of a "checked in" event. There was nothing in the emails I get from Google Cloud Edu about this event, and it's not on the syllabus page, which I check daily. 😬
Quite disappointing they don't notify users of new events, oh well, might as well power through it.
