Hi All!
I am new to GCP. One my developer used GCP for hosting my website creating VMs and Google cloud storage.
However when he moved my website from Google Cloud to some other Hosting provider, he removed/deleted VMs from my Google cloud account. Despite that I am seeing a recurring cost of Compute engine.
Below is the screenshot of my billing where it is showing Compute engine charges, Cloud DNS charges and Cloud storage charges every month which i am paying to Google.
At present my website is only using Google cloud Storage for images but no VMs are there in my account and Cloud DNS is also not being used.
1. Is Cloud storage a VM for which i am being charged?
2. Or there is something which has to be removed from account to stop unnecessary charges.
Kindly help me to avoid unnecessary charge if i am paying.
The ultimate way to avoid charges is by shutting down a project. This will release all associated resources. Check all your projects for resources still being used.
Did your developer perhaps commit to using VMs for a certain time in exchange for a smaller price ("committed use discount")?
And no, Cloud storage is not a VM. It is just storage space for your images.
