Grace Period

Hello,

I would like to address some issues regarding the working of labs and the leaderboard too.

I was facing an issue regarding my Arcade trivia week 3 December 2024 badge not being shown on my profile (my arcade point was also not counted) despite the activity logs showing that I completed it. I contacted chat support and the person assigned to resolving my issue said that my completion of the said lab had fallen under a "Grace Period" and I must repeat the Week 3 lab again for my badge to be displayed. For those who don't know about this, a user who completed the lab within 5 minutes, it will fall under the Grace Period and will not be counted as completed. According to chat support I must spend at least 7 minutes for my lab to be counted.

I spent about 1 minute in every lab of Week 3 which obviously goes against the Grace Period rule.

According to my knowledge only the initial lab "Start here" specifies that a user must spend 5 minutes on it. Additionally "The Arcade Trivia December 2024 <week no.>" (which is basically a quiz) specifies that a user must spend 3 minutes on it. So beside these two, no other labs mention a time limit that a user must spend on (as far as I have seen).

I raised the following concerns with chat support -

  1. Why don't the labs mention this Grace Period rule?
  2. I spent a little more than 3 minutes on The Arcade Trivia December 2024 Week 3 (the quiz). It got checked marked green which proves it was solved. But chat support said I must repeat it again. Why?
  3. I completed my other Week labs under almost same timeframes like the Week 3 lab but I got the badges for the other weekly labs so why is week 3 lab giving me an issue separately.

But the person on the other hand kept on repeating that I must repeat the Week 3 labs again. He did not for once address my queries nor did he give me a feasible solution (except that I must repeat Week 3 again). This raised a couple more concerns for me -

  1. If I must follow the Grace period rule then that means I must spend at least 7 minutes on every lab (even if its unspecified). Then that would mean I can never qualify to reach a recognized position in the leaderboard. But people are reaching to the top position which would mean the Grace Period rule isn't applying to everybody. (Sure leaderboard doesn't mean anything, but I prefer to reach a ranking)
  2. Chat support seriously needs better people handling it and not some people who acts like a bot (I am sorry I have to refer to such terms) and keeps on repeating things instead of addressing user concerns.

Hopefully the responsible management team sees this and does something about it (clarify such issues more).

Thank You!
