How do you like to learn? Right now we're hard at work on the Learn to Earn Cloud Challenge - but a time-bound challenge with points and leader boards is not for everyone.

So how do you like to learn a new skill?

Do you read blogs and forums? Books? Watch YouTube? Listen to podcasts? Pick up the thing (whatever it is) and start pressing buttons until it works?

 Mostly I prefer videos because I love visualisation and see live demonstrations too of the project say the working of a webserver written on a book vs a small animation about it I also enjoy creating visual images of whatever I learn on my head and making flowcharts 

Thanks to Qwiklabs, I participate in all games. The games and labs with time limits teach us time management skills and teach us discipline, which are essential for living a successful life.

I mostly prefer reading text based stuff like documentations. Documentations are the only way to know everything that a framework has to offer.

I prefer mostly animated vedios and official documentation for any skill or technology. 

Also I will be great if we have hard copies. After learning a quick info graphics is good so we can refresh the learnings. They add a great value and learning is permanent. Hands on is add on.

For me hands-on labs with  documentation around it, works best.  Videos and  audio give me  additional modes of learning .However for reinforcement nothing like explaining it to others /  playing with the tools to address a specific problem.

I personally believe to learn with videos and doing practicals by own.

It is often case that documentations will not give you right idea of how to use it. One eye-witness is better than many hearsays.

Hey Emily....I have a question regarding learn to earn challenge swags...I didn't get any mail from qwiklabs for redeem swags for learn to earn cloud challenge.. but some of my friend's who finished just 2 badges received the mail..I have completed all the five badges including data+ badge...may I know am I eligible to swags or not...if eligible means when will I get mail?

Mixed.  Hands-on/Qwiklabs to get my feet wet and get me a walkthrough of some of the options or particular use cases, etc., but ultimately I prefer reading.  I'm old-school so I prefer an actual book and I like to mark it up with handwritten notes.

I took a couple Latin classes many years ago and one of the prof's rules was "thou shalt not write notes in the textbook" - he would take points off if you did. That was brutal!!!

I've written in pretty much all my textbooks.  Especially tech books as the technology evolve so quickly that it's interesting (for me, at least) to flip back to look at my first Python 2 book and see if the notes I wrote still apply or not 😄
