Hey everyone, I would really appreciate some help here. I’m 17 years old and bought my Google Cloud Innovator Plus subscription around July to prepare for the Google Cloud Security Engineer exam. I recently found out that I need to be 18 to sit for any exam, and by the time I turn 18, my Innovator Plus subscription will have expired. I reached out to Qwiklabs support but didn’t receive any assistance. I’m sharing this here in the hope that someone from Google Cloud can see this and help me out—I’d truly appreciate it. I really love Google Cloud and have done some exciting cyber security projects for my work, so please don’t let this make me lose my enthusiasm for GCP. Any help would mean a lot!
Maybe I misunderstand, but you can schedule exams several months ahead. So why not use the voucher from your subscription while it is still valid and schedule the exam for after your birthday? Or is this not possible here?
Ohhh I am not sure about that my subscription will expire in july (2025) and I will turn 18 in sep(2025) so i am not sure if i can book my exam that far.
Yes, you can book ahead that far. For example, right now you could book exam dates for January which means at least 3 months ahead. Go to webassessor.com and see for yourself.
Good morning. I don't think you are reading his responses very closely. He turns 18 in September 2025. Can he reschedule until September 2025?
Hm, I thought he was worried about booking in July 25 ahead for September 25 (2 months). I pointed out that right now you can book ahead for at least 3 months. Assuming that the book-ahead period does not depend on any particular date and translates to his situation, he would be able to book already in June for after his birthday in Sep. Right?
Hey Ayush, this is something that I would expect that Google would handle without a problem. Of course, that's not what happened. I'll shake the tree as much as I can to help out. I understand that a cybersecurity reporter that I contacting is reaching out to someone that he knows in Google to discuss your situation. I think that he might be interested in writing a story about it. My hope is that Google corrects your situation and avoids any bad press and, doesn't lose you as someone who was vigorously pursuing their Cloud Engineer cert.
Hello @carrie ma'am. Please take a moment to look into this issue. He's a close friend and a dedicated Google Cloud enthusiast, having made significant contributions to the GCP community. He's worked on creating valuable content, including hands-on labs for beginners in cloud security, as part of his work with Pwned Labs(https://pwnedlabs.io/ ). His passion for Google Cloud is undeniable, and it would be a shame for this age restriction to dim his enthusiasm. Any assistance or guidance on how he can navigate this situation would be greatly appreciated!
