Hello Certification Team,
I am Ranga (Ranganath Tej Baleshwar) from India. My team is the content creator on various cloud certification exams including GCP. We are in this field for the last 8+ years. We are creating and hosting our content on Pluralsight and are in talks with ACloudGuru to allow us to host our GCP-related content. A few months back we created courses on Udemy.com.
We mostly create video courses and learning paths. We tried experimenting and creating practice test courses from scratch. And the overall response has been good.
I saw that there are courses that are posting real-exam questions. I read the GCP certification exam terms and conditions. It is illegal and spam to share actual exam questions.
Most students are enrolling in such courses that promise such exam questions. And there is no surprise that students are liking such courses because they are getting direct access to actual exam materials. These courses are among the top-ranked on Udemy search.
Because of this, the practice content that we have been creating from scratch is not getting much visibility on the Udemy platform and I think it is not fair for me and our team as it takes months to create a single module learning path and single practice test.
We even tried to contact Udemy regarding this and they said that it is a marketplace that allows everybody to host courses and their marketplace model is not in a position to determine the legality of the content. They even mention that instructors posting courses on Udemy respect applicable laws and the intellectual property of others. As per their feedback, only the actual copyright holder can submit a takedown notice to Udemy.
Hence, I request the certification team to contact Udemy Trust and Safety team as soon as possible to take down these spam courses from the platform (policy@udemy.com).
