I hope you’re all doing well!
My name is Abderraouf Ahmed Abla, and together with a team of over 200 passionate students from around the world, we are launching a new initiative as part of GDSC. Our goal is to create a non-profit platform designed by students, for students to support education globally. The platform will focus on providing mentorship, courses, discussion forums, blogs, podcasts, events, and much more for students who may lack access to these resources.
We are in the early stages of developing our prototype, and we’re seeking guidance from the community on how best to move forward. Specifically, we’d love advice on the following:
- Legal Approval: How can we ensure that our initiative is officially recognized as part of GDSC and follows Google’s policies?
- Data Privacy: What steps should we take to ensure that student data from around the world is kept secure and compliant?
- Intellectual Property: How should we handle content creation and ownership to protect both our contributors and the platform?
- Non-Profit Status: What do we need to keep in mind to maintain our non-profit status while aligning with GDSC and Google’s values?
- Volunteer Contributions: Should we formalize volunteer and contributor roles? If so, what should these agreements include?
We’re currently working on developing a prototype and would also appreciate any technical guidance or resources that could help us achieve our goals.
We believe in the power of students coming together to make a real impact, and we would love to get your insights, suggestions, or any experiences you might have in similar projects. Your support will be invaluable in helping us ensure that this platform is both ethically sound and technically robust.
