No. of credits required varies depends on lab you are attempting to complete.
If you are new to Google cloud , I suggest to start with labs which require no /fewer credits.
After you become familiar with console, options, you can attempt labs with mid and higher level difficulty.
Always read lab content and try to understand why you are doing particular lab, before clicking on "Start" .
Gaining knowledge is important . it is not about completing labs..
