subnet overlapping in VPC

Hi, 

I am getting confused a bit regarding subnets. My question is can we use same subnet (ex 10.0.0.1.0/24) on two different subnets ? will we get overlapping subnets once we perform VPC peering ?

Rule of thumb, there should not be any subnet overlapping if you want to perform vpc peering.
