Bug - End date is earlier than start date (during selection)

When selecting a Comparison date range in the order shown below:

Advanced, then Start Date = Fixed (say 1 year ago date), then End Date = Today:
As soon as I enter any number into Today Minus (like even 1 day), Google Looker immediately errors out with "End date is earlier than start date" which is clearly not true.  Can you try to fix this so we can properly select the start and end date?  Thank you.

Hi @redgreen1889 ,

Yes, this sounds like a bug in Looker Studio’s comparison date range selector when using Today Minus with fixed start dates.

For now, a workaround is to:

  • Set the Today Minus first, then adjust the fixed start date.

  • Or use a relative range (like “Last 365 days”) instead of mixing fixed and relative dates.

I recommend reporting this through Looker Studio feedback so the product team can address it.
