Default Date Range & Date Range Control

Has anyone else noticed this?  I have a date range control on the page, but all of my charts set to Auto Default Date Range, are showing Last 28 days (exclude today).  Auto used to automatically use the date range control. I maintain many dashboards with all set to auto with a date range control.  How do I make sure it's pulling data from the date range control when client facing, as it appears to be defaulting to last 28 days?  Is this a glitch, or is there a work-around?

I've been having the same problem since beginning of July, I think they pushed an update that broke the auto date range function. I've been having to change each chart to be custom date range set to last month which is extremely tedious and frustrating. I've done a bunch of digging online and this is the first thread I've found where someone's having the same problem, I found previous ones but the Google Help pages are broken. It's also extremely frustrating that Looker has no support to help with these problems, hopefully this will get fixed soon.

Hi @lisan 

The info in the default date range section of the chart edition is wrong but the chart takes in account the good date range. So, it is very confusing but not blocking for the management of the reports. You can confirm it duplicating the chart and adding a date field in a table chart as example.

Thank you!  I have done a check like that and it seems to be following the date range control.  It is definitely confusing to see that default!

I am liking the date range feature - is there a way to refer charts on subsequent pages to the date range on the first page so he date range doesn't need to keep being changed when you switch pages?

I have found that it is a visual error and not a functional one. But why take so long to fix it?

I am also experiencing another error where when I select "Auto" on a chart, it goes back to custom. I can't find any way to get it to stay auto
