Gemini in Looker not working

Hi, i'm new to Looker and would like to try the Gemini in Looker feature. However, when selecting a chart, i get the left-side screenshot scenario, while expecting the right-side one.jnl_jkl_0-1722528153253.png

Any advice on how to troubleshoot this? Thank you!

Hey folks, sorry for the confusion! Right now the only Gemini in Looker features that are available for public preview are slide generation and calculated fields assistance.

Asking a question has been removed from the public preview feature set for now. We plan to reintroduce it in the future.

Can you try accessing the calculated field assistant from a report or data source in a Looker Studio Pro workspace?

There's a current issue that we are fixing that limits the assistant to only show up in pro workspaces.

That's great that the manual solution worked for you!

From reading the docs, I think you're seeing the expected behavior. Content always has to be moved over to the sandbox or a Pro workspace. I think it's a very reasonable feature request to ask for Pro content to be automatically created in those spaces, though!

Did you find a solution? I see the "Generate Slides" option, but not "Ask a question" which is what I need.

To activate "Generate Slides", I went to the Admin Panel in the Gemini section

Hi, unfortunately not yet - I'm trying to replicate what you did for enabling "Generate Slides", but I'm not sure how to access the Admin Panel in the Gemini section, do you mind sharing a screenshot of what you mean? I've already enabled the below:GEMINI.png

@sam8 Was the same done with the calculated field assistant?

I can't seem to find it on my Looker Studio Pro Report editor. I have followed the steps in this tutorial: Link. However, nothing shows up in the bottom right of the field editor.

As a note I am located in Canada, so I'm unsure if these features are available to me due to that as well.

Hi Sam, thanks for your reply! Apparently every report and data source I'm creating is always saved in "Owned by me" instead of the pro workspace sandbox, despite starting the process from here. I manually moved a report into the sandbox and the formula assistant icon has finally appeared into the field editor!

However, I'm wondering whether this is the expected procedure in order to have report/data source in sandbox or am I experiencing another type of bug?

Quick update: End of August "Slide Generator" button has suddenly appeared in the Gemini section.

However, Ask a question or Formula assistant features are still not available.
