How can I display the number of ranking keywords from each bucket from GSC data

I have connected GSC data to Lookerstudio. What I want to do is show a weekly/monthly change of ranking keywords our site has in each of these "buckets"

  • Average position 1-10
  • Average position 11-20
  • Average position 21+

I have tried doing this many ways with calculated fields and filters. Problem with calculated fields is that I am mixing dimensions with metrics which Looker does not like. Then with filters, I am getting issues with aggregated metrics (apparently average position is an aggregated metric).

Is there anyway to do it? I just want to have visuals that show WoW/MoM the change of the amount of ranking keywords in each of the keyword bucket groupings.

I came across this Youtube tutorial here - <URL removed by staff> and I thought I had a workaround to use blended data.

It seemed to work at first but the keyword buckets now make no sense at all when I verify it with 3rd party tools like ahrefs/semrush. It shows that we have majority of our keyword positions in 1-10, which I know is definitely not the case.

I have a strong suspicion that the data is being sampled and that is why I am getting crazy results here. Has anyone out there had a similar experience?

It is probably a problem of aggregation, not of sampling. Please, can you describe how you configured your blending (screenshot of the blending tables) to disaggregate Avg position and how you use it in your chart(screenshot of the setup tab and the chart)?
