How to Disable Redirection Notification When Opening External Links in Looker Studio

Hi all, I’m experiencing an issue with the navigation buttons in Looker Studio. When I link to an external website, a redirection notification pops up like this:

"Redirection Notification"
The previous page is trying to redirect you to [the link]
If you don’t want to visit that page, you can return to the previous page."

I would like to ask:

  • Is there a way to disable this redirection pop-up so that when clicking the button, it immediately opens the external link without showing the notification?

  • Or is there an alternative method to make the external link open smoothly?

Any help or advice would be really appreciated. Thank you so much!

We added this feature earlier this year to help combat inappropriate content. Users were creating dashboards with links to scams or otherwise inappropriate content. We wanted to make that experience less smooth to help users stay safe.

Of course, the current experience is clunky in its own way too. I recommend submitting a feature request! In fact, I did a quick search for this one and found an open issue that you can add your feedback to.
