Hey!
I'm new to Looker Studio and i'm facing some problems:
I’m trying to embed a Looker Studio report so it only shows data for a specific restaurant ID. In my data source (connected to GA4), I have a dimension called “ID Restaurant” (type: Text). If I add a standard control filter on “ID Restaurant” and manually select an ID (e.g., 27), the tables display the correct data.
However, I want to hide the filter control so users can’t change it. To do that, I created a parameter in Looker Studio named restaurant_id_param (also type: Text). In report’s filter, I set:
Include → [ID Restaurant] → equals → [restaurant_id_param]
(it doesn't even let me select the parameter, I just have to write it, it only displays the ID's of the restaurants that i have data).
But this parameter-based filter always returns “No data,” even though the control-based filter works fine with the same value. I’ve confirmed the dimension is Text, the parameter is Text, and there is indeed data for 27 in GA4 for the selected date range.
Question: Why would the parameter-based filter return no data while a manual control filter on the same dimension and value works? Am I missing a step or a known limitation for parameter-based filtering in Looker Studio?
