Invalid dimension in filters

Hello, I have built and used a report for a while, suddenly in the filters this strange INVALID thing appears, making me unable to edit the filter:

Another strange thing is that the filters work correctly despite that.

We're seeing the same thing. It seems to appear randomly.

Same here

A few questions:

- Is this a blended data?

- Have you updated/changed the data source of your dataviz?

Could be that LS does not find the field ID anymore, because it was changed by an update of the data source, or because you copy paste a dataviz and changed its data source.

Hi @Looker_Studio_B, the answer is no to both questions.

Hum, ok, weird then 😕

It still works but you can't see the name. There was an update on Looker studio that now looks for values on the filters part. For filters made before this update this invalid occurs. I can't imagine a workaround for this 😕

Hi @filipemacedo, you can't edit them, not just see the name.

Same.  Continuing to be random dashboards in which the issue occurs.

Hi everyone, editing the dashboard with owner rights, rather than admin rights, the problem does not appear. Don't know if it is just a random thing or if that's a solution, though.

I think this problem occurs just with the "or" conditional statement

You are absolutely right. Just deleted the OR statements and it worked.

So, I just activated two separated Filters and works fine now... 🙂

I think that using separate filters work with exclude, not with include, though...

It didn't work for me when I tried 2 separate Include Filters

Yeah that makes sense, I didn't think it through when I was writing m
comment, but of course splitting it into two filters would imply and AND
instead of an OR, so it wouldn't work as expected.

BUT the "good" thing is that the filter still works even though the
dimensions are shown as invalid. It's only an issue if you need to make
modifications.

If you need to make edits to the filter, remove all conditions until you
are left with just one, save it, open it again, add all the right
conditions again and save. After saving, it will look broken again, but the
filter will work.

It still sucks and I hope this gets fixed soon, but it's good to know there
is a way to still work with them.

I hope it helps.

Best!

My filters are on Ad set IDs and I want the data added in a scorecard.

I encounter it with OR, don't know about other situations.

Glad to know it's not only me going crazy and it's a broader issue. I hope It gets fixed, I have a filter applied to over 50 elements and I would love not to have to individually modify all of them to add four additional separate filters :')

I'm facing the same annoying issue. @Aventuri have you found a solid solution?

If the conditions OR contains is on the same field, what about replacing it with a single condition:

Dimension RegExp Contains: ^.*text1|text2*$

Or similar?

Sure, that should work, as long as you need to evaluate more than one
condition on the same dimension.

Else, as stated before, the filters still work even though the dimensions
are shown as invalid. If you need to make modifications, you can remove and
add again.

Cheers!

I am experiencing a very similar issue for the last two weeks. I can't remove the "Invalid Filter" parameters or anything.
