Description :
I am able to connect Looker Studio with MySQL (MySQL version 8.0.33 that supports TLS 1.2 and 1.3) without SSL. It does not work when enabling SSL and adding the CA certificate in the ‘Server certificate’ field. It works with the CA certificate from a terminal (not locally), but not with the same CA certificate from Looker Studio.
Steps taken :
- Create a new data source with MySQL
- Filling out the requested information (Host name, Port, Database, Username and Password)
- Click on ‘Enable SSL’
- Upload the CA certificate in ‘Server certificate’
- Click on ‘Authenticate’
Problem :
A message appears : ‘Sorry, we encountered an error and were unable to complete your request. Error ID: 62b7a032’.
In the MySQL logs, I receive the request, but a 'Bad Handshake' is sent back to Looker Studio. When connecting remotely with a terminal to the database and the CA certificate, it works perfectly.
Question :
Am I doing something wrong ? Is there a known issue about Looker Studio x MySQL with SSL ?
