I am trying to visualize a pivot table based on two combined tables. The tables have one field in common to combine them. When I insert the pivot table it does not allow me to select the combined table displaying an error "Invalid combination of dimensions and metrics".
The combination type is Exterior right because I want all data from the "Orders" table and the "Bills" that have an Order number coinciding with one of the orders in the "Orders" table.
Both tables have fields with amounts. For example, the Orders table has an order amount and the Bills table has an Bill amount. Off course the idea is to compare the total of Bills with the order amount. This is why I use the Order amount not as a value but as a dimension to avoid it being added as many times as there are bills for a specific order.
Am I doing something wrong? How should I define the combination to be able to produce the pivot table I want?
could you please look into select dimension from table - please choose correct Dimension name and fix in select query as well as bottom dimension pane.
if you correct the dimension name it will work.
