Problems adding YouTube data source

Hi, I cannot get Looker Studio to add YouTube Analytics as a data source. When I choose "Add Data" and select YouTube Analytics for "Connect to Data Source," I get a black circle that just spins and spins and spins and never actually connects to YouTube Analytics. Can anyone offer any advice of things I can try to force Looker Studio to connect to YouTube Analytics?

Thank you!

Hello there,

Here is some troubleshooting;

  • Sometimes, clearing your browser's cache and cookies can help resolve loading issues. After clearing them, try connecting again.
  • Try using a different web browser or open an incognito/private browsing window to see if the issue persists. This can help identify whether the problem relates to browser extensions or settings.
  • Ensure that you have the necessary permissions to access YouTube Analytics. You should be logged into the Google account with access to the YouTube Analytics data.
  • Try using a third-party connector such as windsor.ai.

Thank you! We've only been able to make it work with someone who is the owner of YouTube account, and even then all of the YouTube metrics are not available in Looker Studio. We will look into windsor.ai.

Having the same problem. Tried in different browsers with different accounts, including the owner of our YouTube channel, so definetely no porblem with access rights.

Same for me in July.  Just spinning icon indefinitely.
