Scorecard with Dimensions Issue

I am trying to add some date columns to scorecards with dimensions to surface KPIs like last refresh date. However, when selecting the visualization "Scorecard with Dimensions" which is the appropriate one for this visual, I am immediately getting an error and am unable to continue forward with that visual. 

When refreshing the page, the scorecard simply reverts to a metric based one, leaving me unable to proceed.

I am still encountering the same issue three months later. @Rick_E  is there a solution?

In the meantime, I found a workaround using the metric-based scorecard. Based on your situation, you have a column for dates and simply need to see the latest one. To do so, add the date field as a metric and change the aggregation to "MAX".
