Share current report view and default filters interaction

I have a report (BigQuery data source) that has  6 report level filters.

Several of these report level filters have default selections set.

I was excited to see the feature "get a link to your report", and in particular the "include your current report view".   Our users were excited to be able to send each other links that included the page & filters they had selected in order to discuss findings.

However, when I use this feature, and a colleague clicks on the share link, the default filter selections get added back in.   For example, if my first filter control has "true" as it's default selection, and I unselect that as part of my current view and share that view, the "true" gets re-selected.

This happens whether or not I have the "enable custom bookmarks" link set in report settings

We have the default selections set because there is a set of filters that is commonly used by our community and we want to reduce load time by having it load that way initially - and to be able to use the "reset" button to return to that state.

Any ideas on how to accomplish these two goals?

I'm having the same issue, haven't found a solution yet. I love being able to send filtered links, but it really reduces their utility when default values cannot be overwritten.

Just commenting here to hopefully bump up the issue.
