Transforming number to Date

I have a spreadsheet with dates on it. However, when I uploaded it to Looker Studio, it didn't recognize it as a date bus as a number. How do I change it to a date?

First, you'll want to make sure the Start Date column in your Sheet is formatted as a date (Format > Number > Date). 

Then, go back into your data source for your Looker Studio report (Resource > Manage added data sources > Edit) and change the field to be Date format. (You may also need click Refresh Fields in the lower left corner.) Once Looker Studio sees it as a date, you'll see a little calendar icon where you see the 123 in your screenshot above.
