Hi,
I am experiencing an issue with Looker Studio data visualization, and I'm hoping you can provide some insight and guidance.
I have a data source connected to Looker Studio, and when I set the date range from June to December, the query data graph displays correctly.
However, when I expand the date range to January to December, the graph abruptly stops after July.
I've confirmed that the data is present in Google Search Console (GSC) for the entire January to December period. The issue seems to be specific to how Looker Studio is displaying the data when the full year is selected.
Could you please help me sovle this issue? It's puzzling that the data is available in the underlying source but not appearing correctly in Looker Studio for the complete year.
I would appreciate any guidance or assistance can provide to resolve this issue.
Hi there,
Already saw this issue in the past: the thing is that the underlying data is too big (too many rows) to be able to be rendered in a time series chart.
What you could do: a line chart, using as dimension MONTH(Date), then metric count_distinct(keyword), and you should be good to go.
Alternative, create an Extract Data with only Keywords and Date, or using a fake blended data, again to reduce cardinality.
Let us know!
Thanks,
Hi there,
Following your advice, I've attempted to adjust my visualization to handle a large dataset by using MONTH(Date) as the dimension and count_distinct(keyword) as the metric for a line chart.
However, I'm still encountering a problem where the data visualization only displays data from January to July. Could there be a configuration or data extraction issue causing this? Any assistance or suggestions on how to ensure the visualization covers all intended data months would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks for your help!
Stupid question, but I need to ask it ^^ What is the date range set to? Jan-Dec 2024? At page-level through a control, or directly on the graph? If that's still an issue, can you try doing an Extract data with only date and keyword, and see if sending less data fixes the issue?
Hi,
Thank you for the prompt response and the suggestions provided.
I've tried implementing the solutions you suggested, but the issue still occurs.
Besides, I've noticed that other sites with similar amounts of data are displaying their graphs without any problems. This makes me believe that the underlying data volume may not be the sole cause of the issue in my specific case.

Could you please advise on any further alternative solutions that I could take?
I would greatly appreciate any additional support you can provide.
Thanks.
Huhum... On your other site, can you please select only one month, and check that numbers match with what you see on the annual graph? Cause your other site starts with 10k keywords in Jan24 and spikes at 17k, whilst the one with issues seem to have up to 40k keywords every single month!
