How can I use the Date Range Control to filter data in the data source without setting any column as the Date Range Dimension? Is there an alternative way to filter by date range across the selected period?

How can I use the selected date range from a Date Range Control object in Looker Studio to filter data in a predefined data source? Is there any way to pass it to data source? Tried to do it but without success.
