backups in google sheets

I have seen in some tutorials that many people make a backup of the original file and work with a copy, my question is, can Looker Studio damage the original file?, since I am interested in working with the real data and that my Looker Studio report shows me the updated information

I am not seeing any value in this. However, if you want for some unknown reason work withh some kind of replica of the original file and maintain data freshness you can ccreate a replkica of certian tabs in gsheets using IMPORTRANGE FORMULA in a new Sheet.
This way it will always mimic the data you are storing in thhe originanl file and the one creatted witthh IMPORTRANGE can be cconnected to your Looker Studio.

But the answer is NO. Looker Studio cannot really damage your original google sheets file.

I think those guys have seen too many Excel movies in their life;-)
