Expense hard limits - Billing

The inhability to stablish hard limits for expenses in pay-as-you-go services is predatory. I understand that is targeted to avoid service interruptions, but there must be a hard limit option to stablish some cuantity avobe wich a business cannot continue operating.

Billing Alerts are great for BAU expenses, to have awareness about them, but a hard limit should be available to manage exceptional situations. It grants peace of mind, and I think this is a very extended pain point of google cloud users, that seems to be unattended to take advantage of users mistakes.

Clearly damages brand reputation in adition to drive many users out of the google cloud platform.

I would say this optional hard limits should be stablished by project and service used, but at least a global limit is basic. The "solution" provided by the documentation of creating your own custom function is a joke, as pushes to the user the responsability of the correct configuration of that limit. This should be a contract-level guarantee.
