About the Opportunity
Wind River has a great opportunity available for Summer Intern (approximately June - September) to join the Avalanche team. We are looking for a SQL/Looker BI developer who is passionate about data and will provide business stakeholders with views and dashboards. Wind River has a modern data stack that provide single source of truth via data and metrics for the entire organization. In this role, you will assist in the modeling of the data and the generation of business-driven metrics, that will be illustrated through robust Looker dashboards. This is a 40- hour per week paid internship. Qualified candidate must be an enrolled student and is a rising Senior or recent college graduate looking to gain work experience.
Responsibilities:
- Develop Looker Dashboards and LookML models for the entire company.
- Develop SQL code to generate views for visualization.
- Analyze, validate, and debug data at the data source
- Apply best practices with regards to SQL/LookML models, dashboards, visualizations
Qualifications:
- GPA of 3.0 or higher majoring in Data Science degree or equivalent
- Completing 3 years of study as of May 2023 or recent college graduate
- SQL skills is required
- Knowledge of any one of the following BI platform: Looker, Tableau or PowerBI
- LookML development experience is preferred
- Knowledge of modern data stack (Snowflake, dbt, Fivetran) is a plus
- HTML, Python, Javascript experience is a plus.
- Degree in Computer Science with emphasis in Database is a plus.
- Passionate about data and contributing to the growth of a data driven organization
What you’ll do:
- The successful candidate will work and collaborate with the data team to model and visualize data, based on requirements.
- The candidate will analyze, debug and modernize dashboards, using best practices
- This position will report to the Sr. Director of Business Insights
Pay Range: $30-36/hour (for CA Bay Area, adjusted for cost of living) for 40 hrs/week, June-August 2023.
