This simple map application plots the locations of Amtrak train & bus stations around the United States, along with a KML layer of train routes.
It also takes advantage of a free stock image source, Unsplash, in order to generate images to represent the city of each station. By creating an ‘Image’ virtual column that appends the station name to an Unsplash url, a mostly relevant image can be generated and used in the detail view for each station:
